About Federation Of Indian Pilots’ – Institute Of Aviation & Aviation Safety (IAAS)
The Federation of Indian Pilots (FIP) was founded in 1996 to serve as a nationwide body representing Indian pilots. It focuses on academic, scientific, and technical issues, offering a collaborative platform for pilots across India.
Over the years, FIP has:
Organized National Seminars
Conducted Public Awareness Campaigns
Represented Pilot Perspectives to regulatory and government bodies
Introduced an innovative insurance scheme to protect pilots from medical unfitness risks

Though a trade union, FIP is essentially a welfare organization aimed at supporting aviation professionals.
Formation of IAAS
In 2002, the FIP launched the Institute of Aviation and Aviation Safety (IAAS) with the vision of combining pilot technical expertise with academic qualifications. IAAS is affiliated with the University of Mumbai, offering a B.Sc. in Aviation and other aviation-related academic programs.
